The two foot by six foot top of my storage chest at the foot of my bed has on it:
-a pile of bills (paid and unpaid)
-other assorted mail
-a cd (not in a case)
-a baby bag that contains diapers, baby wipes, and a change of clothes
-my son’s pair of shoes size 2 youth
-a baby monitor
-a blanket
-my wife’s socks (clean and folded)
Will he ever get to cleaning that room? His wife has all the mail sorted for him, it seems. It’s nice how the baby bag is pre-packed so that’s ready to go, blanket, shoes and all. This is a very nice cedar chest…it would make the room look so much better if it was emptied off, a coat of furniture polish applied, and her husband put a little box of chocolates on it for her. If he was lucky, he might get a little something extra for the chocolates even!

Well, maybe you think you're a slob, but it sounds pretty darn neat to me. Why, I know of a bathroom where--with all the moisture this summer and the lack of cleanup--a clump of mushrooms began growing behind the toilet! Now that's housekeeping at its finest....
